I’ve realized that Jesus has a really a great sense of humor. I was returning to the US from Mexico and the flight was very peaceful. As I was filling out the Customs declaration form for re-entry into the US a few thoughts arose about having to declare some spices that I had purchased. I didn’t really want to declare them yet didn’t want to throw them away. I could hear the Spirit reminder about honesty and openness, so I surrendered it all – whatever needed to happen- spices getting tossed out, etc., I would be going through the customs line. The “I” of personal identity did not want to “deal with it”, yet the call to truth and following the direction of the Holy Spirit is a priority.
As I stepped forward I placed a bag full of powder on the customs counter. The agent asked, “That’s not cocaine, is it?” I said calmly, “No, it’s a chocolate drink mix, do you want to smell it?” He said, “No”. I said, “I would like to ask you about spices,” and proceed to provide the list of spices I had bought. He said, “That’s fine as long as they aren’t raw food and of course, no cocaine.” I said, “Well, if you have God, you don’t need cocaine.” And he said,
“This is the power of forgiveness.”
What miracle a moment! I thanked him and expressed my happiness at connecting with him that day. A beautiful holy encounter with a happy thought, Jesus is everywhere. So much love. Amen.
Follow follow follow. Forgive forgive forgive. The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.
Love and gratitude always,
Cay
