In summary, Advaita Vedanta is a pointer to what is here – some call this the present moment. This pointing to timeless presence has been taught by sages such as Ramana Maharshi, Papaji, and Mooji. This is what is- totality shining as itself. Infinite Light of Being. It is not a sandwich between the past and the future, it is the timeless presence that is always here. This is the Holy Instant, and while easily and immediately seen, yet for most spiritual aspirants can seem extremely difficult to experience on a consistent basis.
The reason that the Holy Instant–recognition of Infinite Light–seems transitory is that there is a deep desire to to deny Light and thus experience limitation in a dream. In ACIM Jesus calls these the blocks to the awareness of love, buried deep below the level of awareness. These desires must be seen through – darkness into light– in order for the Holy Instant, the recognition of true nature, to become consistent experience. Releasing desires through miracles by Joining with a brother and following the Holy Spirit consistently are a fast (and reliable) means to awakening to a state of consistent peace of mind that surpasses understanding. Jesus calls this consistent experience choiceness awareness. In Advaita the blocks are called vasanas, or “latent tendencies of ‘I-Me'”, the seeming veil that covers the recognition of true identity. These are the same as the desires hidden deep below the subconscious mind that must be forgiven. Thus enlightenment is in truth “cease to deny-ment’. This is ceasing to deny that Light, and thus unconditional Love is already here.
Jesus has provided some additional insights on ACIM for non dual students which I recorded here: ACIM for Students of Non-duality
